Divorce or separation is a painful and confusing experience for all children. Research indicates that the manner in which parents handle the divorce or separation can have a direct effect on their children's adjustment. For Kids' Sake seminars are designed to help parents gain insight into the needs of their children for both the short and long term transitions of living apart from one parent.
This court-recommended (and sometimes court-ordered) 4.5-hour seminar is designed to teach adults how to nurture kids through the transitions of divorce or separation. It's primarily aimed at parents who are in the process of divorcing, but it's also extremely helpful for ALL adults who deal with kids in that situation, including people who are already divorced, grandparents, teachers, kids' ministry workers --- anybody who works with kids. It also applies to sets of parents who have never been married or who are planning long-term separation for any reason.
It's a GREAT tool for helping adults understand what kids go through in the aftermath of a divorce or permanent separation, both immediately and long-term. The participants hear about how divorce affects kids at each stage of their development and then they learn how to help kids cope with the changes and the pain, and thrive in their new situation.
Freedom Fellowship holds the exclusive license to present this seminar in Randall County and we offer it free of charge as another way to reach out to those in our community who are hurting.
